Neptune is licensed for reference by authors and developers on their web documents at no charge on the strict provision that all new users will be directed to MeadCo's Neptune download page to collect and install the plugin. Corporate and institutional customers can order an unrestricted in-house copy of the Neptune SDK — a multi-browser-type installation .MSI, together with tech docs detailing all of Neptune's advanced hosting functionality — for a one-time fee of $1500.
